The role of the Research and Innovation Directorate is to establish and maintain an excellent platform for clinical research and research management within the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. The Research and Innovation Directorate is led by a Clinical Director, Professor Nigel Brunskill who is supported by a Team that provides centralised management. The Core Team consists of an Assistant Director, Head of Research Operations, Team Leader, Research Support Officers, Clinical Trials Monitor & Trainer, Data & Information Managers and Administrators.

The team work closely with all the Corporate Directorates, Clinical Management Groups across the Trust and the East Midlands Comprehensive Research Network (EMCRN).

This is an important role within the existing team, focusing on being responsible for identifying and addressing Trust-specific feasibility issues and ensuring that studies are approved, set up in a timely manner and are resourced appropriately

To fulfil this role you will have exceptional communication skills and experience with managing multiple projects. You will have worked with databases, spread sheets and will have knowledge of research within the NHS. The ideal candidate will also have excellent organisational skills and will be able to communicate with a range of stakeholders at all levels.

You will be based at Leicester General Hospital but will be expected to regularly travel between all UHL sites.
