Lead Pharmacy Procurement and Automation Technician

An opportunity has arisen for a registered Pharmacy Technician to join our team; we are looking for a Band 6 Lead Pharmacy Procurement and Automation Technician.

The successful applicant will be responsible for effective procurement of medicines for Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust and the management of pharmacy automation.

The post holder will be required to deal effectively with suppliers and pharmacy staff of all levels, the wider Healthcare community, regional procurement and contractors as required. You will be working closely with other member of the pharmacy and finance teams so good communication skills are essential.

It is important for the post holder to be able to organise their own workload to ensure the procurement of drugs are maintained in a timely manner as well as assisting with the training of staff to ensure competencies are met.

The organisation invested in an automated dispensing robot in November 2014. As part of your role you will be the lead super user and the person responsible for informing staff of changes to the automated dispensing robot and pharmacy related IT. You will be required to plan reviews and update programmes to ensure the pharmacy automated dispensing robot is maintained in line with good practice and manufacturers guidance and be the link person with BD Rowa for updates and maintenance.
