Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust provides a range of community health services for both physical and mental health conditions, as well as a range of specialist services supporting people of all ages including family and young people services, mental health, learning disabilities and physical health community and inpatient services.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic stroke unit at St Luke's Community Hospital, Market Harborough. There are a number of development opportunities for you on joining our team including undertaking additional training such as the national care certificate, acute illness management (AIMS) as well as working alongside a number of professionals in our multidisciplinary team to deliver effective person centred care.

The main role of the Healthcare Assistant is to assist in the delivery of prescribed programs of patient care. We are looking for Healthcare Assistants to work on our wards and contribute to the care of our patients with kindness, compassion and empathy. We need good communication skills, a passion for working on our wards and a clear understanding of the role of the Healthcare Assistants within the team to support the care of our patients. A willingness to engage in developing both yourself and the service is essential.

We actively encourage development and aim to provide a flexible workforce to meet service needs. This will include internal rotation to cover a 24hr 7-day service and the ability to work in other localities/departments. For areas where our teams work to staffing rosters, rosters are set in advance at a team level and you will be joining an established roster. Your rostered shifts will be confirmed to you when arranging your start date. We will consider requests to vary working patterns in line with our flexible working policy.

For all substantive roles the appointment of every new member of staff (excluding medical and dental staff) to a post is subject to a 6 month probationary period, details of which are in our Probation Policy.
