Employer:
NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT)
Department:
Health and Safety
Location:
Bristol
Salary:
£28,050 to £36,644 pa

NHSBT's work is vitally important to the NHS.

We collect 7,000 blood donations every day in order to provide a constant supply to hospitals. Alongside this we also manage the Organ Donor Register and British Bone Marrow Registry.

Each year, our work enables 6,000 people’s lives to be saved or dramatically improved by an organ or cornea transplant. We retrieve and store other tissue, like skin and bone, ready for use in life-saving and life-improving situations, and also manufacture and provide plasma products such as clotting agents.

This is a chance to utilise your skills within a forward-thinking team in which innovation, integrity and commitment are encouraged and embraced. A natural influencer, you’ll also call on a flair for organisation and excellent people skills – essential when it comes to supporting managers with accident reports/inspections.

If you have obtained an Occupational Health and Safety qualification to at least a NVQ Level 5 or equivalent, and have strong communication skills this position offers a wide variety of rewarding opportunities. Equally comfortable working as part of a team or under your own initiative, you’ll keep up to date with best practice (and any legislative changes in the field) and will enjoy the scope this role offers.

This advert will close for applications at midnight on the evening of Wednesday 2nd January 2019 and interviews will be held on Friday 11th January 2019 .

NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) offers a dynamic and friendly working environment where teamwork is highly valued. Personal development is also considered a priority and is supported through extensive training and development opportunities open to all employees.

Three small words, one big difference - Caring, Expert and Quality.

Together we'll save and improve more lives than ever
