The NHS Blood and Transplant is an integral part of the NHS. Operating a network of centres across England, we collect around 2 million units of blood and tissues a year, converting them into safe and effective blood components, blood and tissue products for use in the treatments of patients.

You will handle a wide range of tasks, including the validation, irradiation and issuing of blood components and the monitoring of storage equipment. You will also have the responsibility for the issuing of Non-Clinical blood components and departmental reconciliation activities. In addition 50% of your time will be performing general administration tasks for the department and using Microsoft office applications.

To be considered you’ll need an A level or NVQ level 3 or equivalent, or extensive experience working in a logistics/supply chain environment, or of working within an NHSBT or hospital laboratory. Flexible in your approach and a good team player, you must be able to keep clear, accurate records.

The working pattern for this role is 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week. The earliest start time will be 08:00 with the latest finish time of 16:00.
