Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust was formed in October 2019, following the merger of 2gether NHS Foundation Trust and Gloucestershire Care Services NHS Trust. The two Trusts joined together to provide integrated mental health, physical health and learning disability services to communities.


Team Manager - Lead Nurse – HIV Service - Band 7

Salary: £37,570-£43,772 pro rata per annum

Hours: 30-37.5 hours available

Location: Hope House, Gloucester Royal Hospital

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Nurse with considerable post registration experience in HIV Specialist nursing or Sexual and Reproductive Health to lead the HIV Service, delivering high quality care to people living with HIV who may have complex health and well-being needs.

Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust manages the countywide Sexual Health Service which incorporates Integrated Sexual Health, HIV, Pregnancy Advisory Service (PAS), Psychosexual medicine service and the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC), all of which are co-located at the Hope House hub.

The specialist Adult HIV service is commissioned to provide specialist assessment, treatment and ongoing management of HIV and associated conditions in order to support people living with HIV to stay well and to reduce the risk of onward transmission of HIV.

The successful post holder will be working collaboratively with the Clinical Director and Service Manager in leading the operational and clinical management of the HIV service. They will have experience of line managing responsibilities, co-ordination of HIV outpatient clinics, including nurse led for stable patients, virtual clinics, management of lost to follow up and safeguarding. Ideally they will be a nurse prescriber or have a willingness to complete this training.

Multidisciplinary team working is a key component to the service and the lead nurse would coordinate, promote and develop integrated working both within the team and working with external agencies to ensure that the outcomes, wellbeing and quality of life of adults with HIV are maximised, in addition to managing public health risk.

This post requires the post holder to be able to undertake all statutory and mandatory training and post holders must be able to undertake physical interventions. Fitness for physical intervention will be assessed by Occupational Health.
