Nurse Practitioner OOH (Barrow & Kendal)

£34.99 per hour (Qualified NP/NMP)


We provide out of hours (OOH) primary care and Extended Access appointments to the population of Cumbria (500,000 people over a land mass of 2,613 square miles), working out of 12 clinical sites. Our core bases are:

  • Kendal
  • Barrow
  • Whitehaven
  • Carlisle
  • Penrith
  • Wigton

Nurse Practitioner – Extended Access and Out of Hours

Barrow & Kendal

Saturday & Sunday daytime hours

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Nurse Practitioners and/or Prescribers to join the CHoC team in support of our out-of-hours and extended access services offering flexible working opportunities in a fast-paced but supportive working environment.

The post holder will work as a member of a close team responsible for recognising, negotiating and implementing processes to enhance the delivery of care.

You will:

  • assess patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
  • initiate treatment
  • conduct investigations
  • give advice and manage problems using professional autonomous decision making processes
  • liaise with other healthcare professionals and service providers to ensure safe and effective patient care.

We offer continuous development for all of our staff, as well as regular supervision and annual appraisal, to ensure you achieve your personal goals and assist you in personal and professional development. Regular support from your line manager is also provided to ensure you have the opportunity to develop your skills further.

Due to the requirements of the role, a minimum of 5 years post registration experience is necessary including primary care experience.
