Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) Central & Wessex Region are looking to appoint motivated and dynamic Band 6 Physiotherapists at the following locations;

Regional Rehabilitation Unit (RRU) Tidworth, Jellalabad Barracks, Tidworth, SP9 7DX

PCRF Tidworth, Queen Elizabeth Memorial Healthcare Centre, St Michaels Avenue Tidworth, SP9 7EA

Larkhill Garrison, Larkhill, Salisbury Wilts, SP4 8QT

Please be aware that this post will initially be located at the Regional Rehabilitation Unit Tidworth (RRU) SP9 7DX but will be re-locating to a new Facility in Bulford approximately 5 miles away in March / April 2020. Further details can be attained should you progress to Interview Stage.

You will be expected to provide a high standard of physiotherapy care for entitled personnel. Successful candidates will be expected to use their imagination and expertise to develop creative rehabilitation programmes to get the very best from personnel in their care.

You will be presented with a wide range of complex musculoskeletal training and sports injuries up to an elite level. You will have access to well-equipped gym facilities and be able to extend patient slots with the flexibility to offer intensive rehabilitation alongside the support of an extensive Regional Rehabilitation service. You will have the opportunity to work alongside strength and conditioning experts.

Your main duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Provide a positive caring environment, in which patients can expect a high-quality professional service.
  • Perform highly skilled physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex and acute/chronic physical conditions and sports injuries.
  • Use clinical reasoning skills to provide an accurate clinical diagnosis.
  • Formulate, develop and deliver a specialised individualised treatment programme based upon evidence-based practice, manual assessment and appropriate clinical reasoning.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to ensure informed consent for assessment and treatment, good understanding of their conditions and maximise their rehabilitation potential.
  • Development and maintenance of your own personal, Service and Professional Standards at the highest attainable levels through continuing professional development activities and maintenance of a portfolio.
  • Assist in identifying training needs and organising in-service training for the unit medical facility.

The successful candidate must hold a Degree in Physiotherapy plus additional specialist training or experience to post graduate diploma level or equivalent. Must be a member of the Charted Society of Physiotherapist (MCSP), State Registered Physiotherapist (HPC).

There is no requirement to deploy as this is met by our uniformed personnel, but you will form the continuity of care required by our patients when based at home.

Please be aware that if you are found successful you will be asked to provide evidence of your immunity to Hepatitis B.
