**Please note this vacancy is for candidates who currently have the Right to Work in the UK (do not require a visa) and have studied for their Paramedic qualification in the UK**

We are looking for individuals to join the Trust to be based specifically within our Northern Cluster stations. If you are confirmed to be based at Wexham or High Wycombe these stations attract the following incentives:

- You will receive £1,000 upon joining!

- In addition to this you will also receive £1,000 if you stay at your allocated station for 12 months post training (i.e. when you have finished in training and 3rd manning). Please note that these sums are subject to the usual deductions of Tax and NI.

- We can also offer you up to £1,500 relocation expenses for these stations (High Wycombe and Wexham only). Relocation expenses will be reimbursed in line with the Trusts relocation procedure and only upon receipts.

- If you are successful in obtaining employment with SCAS and you incur costs in achieving your C1 driving licence, the Trust has agreed to reimburse (upon original invoice or receipt) your expenses (up to the value of £1000). Please note that your C1 category must be obtained on your driving licence within 12 months to the day of your start date with SCAS to be eligible (for example,SCAS start date 13th January 2020; C1 reimbursement can be claimed if obtained between 13th January 2019 - 13th January 2020).

- 5% High Cost Allowance (Fringe) for Wexham only.

For candidates transferring from other ambulance trusts their existing progress against the NQP consolidation of learning programme will be recognised.

We are recruiting Newly Qualified Paramedics who are completing their Paramedic Degree and want to work in our progressive, innovative and caring Trust, responding to accident, emergency and urgent care requirements of our diverse population.

All we need you to have is:

  • A full valid UK driving license (including Category B and Category C1 – over 3500kg with no more than 3 points. (You must have as a minimum a Provisional C1 on your license in order for your application to be shortlisted). The Trust motor insurers would not entertain inclusion of any applicants who had had their driving licence removed following a Dangerous Driving or Drink or Drugs offence for a minimum period of 5 years from when their licence is reinstated. Each case would need to be passed to Trust brokers / insurers in order for the individual circumstances to be taken into account

  • A category C1 element to your driving license (over 3500kg) (minimum of provisional entitlement must be held at the point of application and full entitlement obtained at least one month prior to starting the training)

  • A paramedic science degree that is recognised by the HCPC

  • Able to commit to a7 week (full-time) training programme (paid) and on-going shift work

The finer details:

  • The7 week training programme, whilst you’ll be paid, is not residential so you will need to be able to get to the venue and back on your own.

  • If your application demonstrates that you are good enough to treat our patients and you are what we are looking for, then you will be invited to an assessment centre so that we can see how you behave, respond and drive, these are usually based at either our following location: Nursling Resource Centre (Southampton), Newbury (Berkshire) or Northern House (Bicester, Oxfordshire).

  • All successful candidates who are offered a job with us will have to undertake clearance from the DBS (Disclosure and Baring Service) and our Occupational Health department.
