Would you like a job where no two days are the same and where you can really make a difference? 

We are looking for the right person to join our team providing clerical support in our busy Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.  We are looking for someone who has an excellent work ethic, and can live up to our Trust values. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed staff team leader with excellent administration skills, organisational and interpersonal skills to work within our busy, friendly professional medical secretariat team at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. You must have a C grade or new marking scheme 4 or above GCSE or equivalent in English, keyboard skills to a high standard of accuracy along with Microsoft office skills and a good ability to utilise IT in general as you will be called upon to assist in some e-rostering duties.

You will work closely with other medical secretary’s predominantly supporting the senior clinical team, supporting the work of the department in the provision of an efficient and effective office service. 

Candidates should possess a professional attitude to their work and have the ability to work flexibly in a busy environment. You will have the experience of working as a typist or medical secretary and are familiar with the secretarial and administrative processes and practices. 

You will be required to work as part of the team as well as being able to use your initiative and priorities your work load to meet deadlines. 

Full time 37.5 hours a week working flexible working hours as determined by demand between 08:00 x 20:00 hours. The unit operates over 7 days per week.
