Solent NHS Trust is looking for qualified dental professionals who are looking for a rewarding career, balanced perfectly with a wonderful place to live.

We have vacancies for Band A salaried clinicians to support delivery of our specialist dental services at our clinics in Southampton, Gosport and Aldershot. We are looking for a long-term motivated dentist preferably with demonstrable experience to join our friendly motivated team. The ideal candidate will be caring, honest and a good team player with a true passion for dentistry.

Special Care Dental Service provides comprehensive dental care for children and adults with special needs, and for other priority groups, across Hampshire. We are one of the largest salaried services in the UK with over 180 staff providing a diverse range of treatments to a widely dispersed population in Hampshire and the IOW. Our clinics are involved in the outreach training of Dental Therapists and clinical supervision of year 2 dentists on the Dental Core Training schemes and a Specialist Trainee post also.

Details of the role:

  • Minimum of 2 days up to 5 days a week.
  • Multiple surgery sites with a mixture of Specialists, Dental Officers and DCPs
  • UDA commitment to achieve annually
  • Experienced long serving friendly staff
  • Fully computerised- Carestream R4 Clinical +
  • Digital X-ray system including OPT
  • Wave-One endo system, apex locator and EPT
  • Wheelchair recliners
  • Large surgeries
  • To take over an established list of patients. And accept New patients
  • Annual CPD allowance of £800
  • Paid annual leave allowance of 32 days plus bank holidays
  • Regular mandatory training provided and CPD
  • Opportunity to train in Inhalation Sedation – Solent is accredited to provide this training in house

This interesting and varied role and includes providing dental care for adults and children with disabilities, medical and mental health problems as well as severe dental phobia. It also includes provision of domiciliary care and responsibility.
