The Wessex Neurological Centre is the regional Centre for Neurosurgery, Complex Neurology, Stroke and Clinical Neurophysiology serving a population of 3.5 million. We provide a wide range of specialist adult and paediatric services housed in both the Wessex Neurosciences Centre UHS and in OP departments across our catchment area.

The Wessex Neurological Care Group is a welcoming, busy and dynamic environment; an exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated, self-directed individual to become part of the Neurosciences Bed Management team

As one of the Neurosciences Bed Managers you will be employed to cover a 7 day service, including evening and weekend working, to manage and maintain patient flow whilst ensuring the efficient and effective utilisation of the Care Group’s bed stock. Flexibility in working patterns will be required to help cover annual leave and sickness.

The work is varied requiring an organised approach, attention to detail and strong skills in communication, and administration. You will be required to communicate directly with nursing staff, clinicians, Care Group management and outside agencies, including other hospitals and care providers.

We are looking for someone who is articulate with excellent interpersonal skills, proactive and motivated. You will need to have the ability to multi task, organise your own workload whilst remaining calm under pressure and enjoy a challenge. Previous NHS experience is desirable but not essential.

Training and support will be provided where needed but please note, on the job training will be required during core hours - Monday to Friday before commencing the shifts independently.
