An opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join one of ACE’s integrated care teams. Do you have experience within the healthcare sector? Are you looking to expand your knowledge and learn new skills or develop current ones? Would you like to be part of a busy integrated nursing service within the local community? If so this could be the role for you.

We are able to offer both full and part time hours based in either Colchester or Tendring locality.

As part of this role you will be required to undertake various duties/tasks. This would be to support the delivery of person centered care in the community. Enabling individuals to remain at home safely, avoiding unnecessary admissions to hospital.

You will work in collaboration with Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Therapists as well as other outside agencies such as GP’s, social care and St Helena Hospice to promote independence and to collaboratively effectively manage long term conditions.

This will enable us to meet the needs of patients within their own homes and the residential care setting, working to support the Care Closer to home contract.

Some of the duties include:- (Full training to be provided)

  • Diabetes management

  • Various wound care procedures

  • Pressure Ulcer Prevention (including ordering of equipment)

  • Venepuncture

  • Catheterisation

  • Participating in patient’s rehabilitation care planning

  • Leg ulcer management (Compression therapy)

  • Carrying out Full Holistic assessments

  • Implementing clinical care plans

It is essential that you are a car driver as you will be expected to travel across the North East Essex area. You need to have a flexible approach and possess good interpersonal skills and have the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.

The hours of work are shifts covering a 24 hour period.

For external applicants this post attracts an additional payment of £1,000, to be paid in 2 installments:
• £500 to be paid on completion of probation
• £500 on completion of 12 months employment

Within Tendring you have 60kms of beautiful coastline including Blue Flag beaches, the gentile charm of Frinton and the more bustling Clacton – one of the driest places to live in the UK!  Within a stone’s throw of Tendring is Colchester – Britain’s oldest recorded town and now one of its fastest growing with a range of recreational facilities to match. A wealth of new homes is complemented by an equally broad selection of character homes in the plethora of picture-postcards villages that surround the town. The likes of Sible Hedingham, Finchingfield and Dedham (the latter being the heart of Constable Country made famous by the artist John Constable) are much sought-after locations. In addition North Essex boasts several nationally acclaimed schools, including Colchester Royal Grammar School and Colchester County High School for Girls. London Stansted Airport is less than an hour’s drive away while all the attractions of London itself are within easy reach.

We operate a probationary policy and all new staff will be subject to a 6 month probationary period. All Qualified Nurses will be required to undertake a Drug Calculation Test as part of this probationary period
