Consultant Paediatric/Perinatal Pathologist

Applications are invited for a Paediatric/Perinatal Pathologist to join our busy UKAS accredited Paediatric Histopathology Department which is part of the Pharmacy Diagnostics and Genetics Division. Our team provide a highly specialised clinical and technical histopathology service, supporting the treatment and care of patients within the Trust and surrounding region. Working with a highly dedicated and considerate Histopathology team you will be passionate about providing an excellent service to children, young people and their families.

Our paediatric post mortem services are provided to hospitals and Coroners in Yorkshire, Cumbria, Lincolnshire, Derby and North east Derbyshire. This includes routine fetal /paediatric autopsies, Coroners and Forensic autopsies, together with surgical pathology reporting services for our Trusts Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Oncology, Clinical Genetics, Neonatology and Paediatric Surgery teams. Placental dissection and reporting services are also provided to city Trusts and wider service users.

We are seeking an individual who is motivated and approachable and who has a track record of personal continual professional development. Hours and periods of working will be by mutual agreement, most predominantly during staff shortages and annual/study leave periods.

If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
