Out of hours Nursing Service – Hull and East Riding Community Staff Nurse


City Health Care Partnership CIC are looking to recruit enthusiastic and self-motivated qualified nurses to the Out of Hours Nursing Service within Hull and East Riding Locality.

You will be joining a dynamic and proactive nursing team working in partnership with associated health and social care providers. This is an ideal opportunity for those who enjoy developing new ways of working and working on their own initiative. This post fits in well with people with young families to achieve an excellent work life balance.

Working within the team you will be providing holistic high quality unplanned urgent nursing care as part of the wider Integrated Urgent Care service.

The post holders must be first level NMC registered nurses and have completed a period of preceptorship. Community nursing experience in End of life care, Male and Female catheterisation and wound care experience would be an advantage. The post holders must be experienced in caring for Patients at the End of Life or those with palliative care needs. Excellent communication skills are needed as patients accessing unplanned care are often distressed. Excellent communication skills and an ability to work independently to safely prioritise urgent care calls.

The Out of Hours Nursing Service runs from 5pm to 12 midnight 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. These roles would be worked across two sites – Bransholme Health Centre and East Riding Community Hospital. The shifts are 5pm – 11pm and 6pm – 12MN and an expectation to work overnight occasionally to cover the needs of the service. Consideration will be given for applicants applying for part time hours.

The successful applicant must have the ability to drive and have access to appropriate means of transport. The service covers the care needs of all patients registered to East Riding GPs and therefore large distances can be covered in a shift.
