Clinical or Counselling Psychologists or Psychotherapists

Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours). Part-time or job share would be considered
Contract: Permanent
Start date: As soon as possible
Salary scale: £30,000 - £40,000
Registration required: HCPC or BABCP or BACP or UKCP and IGA.

The Retreat is seeking talented and dedicated Psychologists or Psychotherapists to help us to ensure the delivery of mental health services of excellence, which are statutorily and regulatory compliant and congruent with the values of The Retreat. Our vision is to deliver high quality, sustainable, renowned mental health services, alongside Autism and ADHD services, helping people to live well with themselves so that we all live better together.

We offer community-based psychological assessment and therapy services for adults and for children and young people. We would be particularly interested in a professional with training and experience in the following areas, working with individuals and groups:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
  • Psychodynamic or Psychoanalytic models of therapy
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
  • Compassion Focussed Therapy
  • Cognitive Analytic Therapy.

We will expect you to be registered with the appropriate professional body and have experience as a psychotherapist or clinical or counselling psychologist,. It will be important for you to have experience of developing effective therapeutic working alliances with complex clients and appropriate members of their system. We are currently focused on recruiting people to our adult service, but would welcome discussions with professionals experienced in working with children and young people.

Our service enjoys good links with local universities (York St John’s as well as University of York), with ongoing opportunities for research collaborations and supporting placement trainees.
