We are welcoming Junior Band 5 Nurses (newly registering) into permanent Junior Band 5 Nurses in the following areas:

  • Interventional Radiology
  • Paediatric Intensive Care
  • Sky Ward (Orthpaedic & Spinal Surgery)
  • Pelican Ward (Rheumatology, Dermatology, Infectious Diseases & Immunology)
  • Fox Ward (Bone Marrow Transplant)
  • Bumblebee Ward (International & Private Patients Division)

As a Junior Band 5 Nurse joining GOSH, support and guidance is provided to assist in the transition to your new role, which can be tailored according to clinical specialty and individual needs.

The aim of Preceptorship is:

• to allow you to consolidate your learning as a pre-registered student and learn new skills and knowledge

• to help you feel a sense of belonging to the new area and organisation

• to support you to become a confident practitioner and build a nursing career at GOSH

• For Junior Band 5s who have trained in the Republic of Ireland, you must be eligible to register as a Children's Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Council in the UK. We recognise that this process can be lengthy and would therefore be able to provide you with a suitable alternative position while you await your NMC Pin or could accommodate a later start if you wish to wait for your pin prior to commencing employment at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Important:

The start date for the this vacancy is 23rd September 2019. Given you satisfy pre-employment checks in time you will be required to commence on this set date.
