Are you a qualified Specialist Community Public Health Nurse – School Nursing, looking for a position to fulfil your Public Health role? This post is also suitable to SCPHN School nursing students due to qualify in September as we are able to offer a comprehensive preceptorship programme.

Having successfully secured the Public Health Nursing contract for Hertfordshire, the service are looking to expand our workforce to deliver high quality care to our service users in an integrated model with Family Support Services. As well as working with individual children and young people, our focus is on developing local public health plans with schools and the wider community.

HCT Public Health Nursing Team 5-19 is an innovative service that embraces the use of technology. The service delivers the Healthy Child Programme by using an electronic health needs assessment process to identify individuals requiring early intervention pathways as well as determining public health needs of local communities. HCT also uses Chat health text messaging service and has implemented two health websites for use by children, young people, families & professionals.

You will be a confident, independent practitioner who is a skilled team player and able to lead a skill mix team. You will have excellent communication skills to use with a variety of clients, professionals & staff. The service is committed to mobile working and experience of electronic record keeping would be an advantage although full training will be given.
