Applications are welcome from enthusiastic, professional people who want to join our ICT team in this role as a senior technician.

Working within the technical team, the successful applicant will be responsible for:-

  • Supports, in collaboration with other members of the Information Technology Team, the Northampton General Hospital Information Technology Infrastructure in order to ensure the integrity, availability, security and efficient use of the Hospital's Information Resources.
  • Provides Senior 2nd line technical support to end-users (with complex IM&T problems); acts as a liaison between 2nd and 3rd line support, responds to Service Desk calls that cannot be "talked through" by telephone.
  • To supervise the IT Support Technicians on a day to day basis, providing advice and guidance as and when necessary.
  • To provide technical support to ICT project
  • To Participate in an on-call rota for out of hours support
  • To be part of the problem management function within the ICT department. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication, leadership and hands-on skills and the ability to offer a flexible, responsible and positive approach to this challenging position.

This is an exciting time for the Trust’s ICT Department, with a number of key projects at the early stages of development or implementation. The successful candidate will be expected to hit the ground running and pick up key project activities managing them through to resolution.

Previous experience at a similar level and in depth knowledge of all of the major disciplines of IT is absolutely essential.
