Senior Occupational Therapist at Gregory House (Part Time)

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Occupational Therapist at Gregory House, Cumbria.

Gregory House is part of our Learning Disability and Autism division and provides care and support to 24 adults who have a learning disability and/or mental health needs.


The role includes:

  • Being responsible for the planning and delivery of Occupational Therapy to a designated population with complex needs, prioritising clinical needs to provide an effective service
  • Monitoring, evaluating and modifying interventions in order to measure progress and ensure clinical effectiveness
  • Demonstrating and applying a high level of expert clinical knowledge through evidence based practice and ensure that it is embedded into practice
  • Supervising and offering expert advice to both Occupational therapy staff and other members of the multi-disciplinary team
  • Functioning as a senior member of the multi-disciplinary team to support the planning and achievement of local service objectives
  • Respecting the individuality, values, cultural and religious diversity of service users and contribute to the provision of services sensitive to these needs


Please note, this role is 30 hours per week over 4 days.


You will:

  • Have a degree/diploma in Occupational Therapy and at least two years clinical experience
  • Be registered with the HCPC and have BAOT membership, and meet the necessary continuing professional development requirements in order to remain on the register
  • Be able to respond to unpredictable demands and challenges
  • Have expert knowledge, skills and expertise gained through mental health practice within multi-disciplinary teams in mental health
  • Have experience in the management of performance, including supervision, appraisal and mentoring skills
