We are looking for a pharmacist to deliver advanced clinical pharmacy services to our specialty medicine wards, with a focus on respiratory medicine. This is an exciting opportunity to work with an engaged multi-disciplinary team and to influence practice across inpatient and outpatient care. You do not need to be a respiratory specialist for this role, but a broad general medicine experience would be beneficial.

The successful pharmacist will have responsibility for representing pharmacy within the business group and will lead for pharmacy on the Out Patient Antimicrobial Therapy OPAT service. You will be required to support the wider specialty medicine team working with other advanced clinical pharmacists to support the work within Division C.

This post provides an opportunity to develop advanced clinical skills and knowledge through integrated working with the respiratory team on a designated ward and a patient-centred approach to practice will be essential. Our respiratory team is very positively engaged with the pharmacy services, and support is also provided by a Medicines Management Technician. Leadership of additional services, such as respiratory OPAT and homecare provision for patients with ILD will provide opportunities to expand your knowledge of outpatient service provision.

Opportunities to develop management skills will be realised through engagement with the wider team (including clinical and management roles) in the Respiratory, Allergy and Immunology business group. You will represent pharmacy at clinical governance and business group meetings.

CUH has a well-developed and respected clinical service including; independent pharmacist prescribers who respond dynamically to the needs of the hospital and its patients, wide ranging specialist roles, support for flagship pathways such as frail elderly, extended services to ED and emerging and established roles in clinics. We have a high level of commitment to staff development and actively encourage all staff to share their expertise widely to enhance the profile of the department.

This post is available as a secondment or fixed-term contract for 52 weeks.

This post is subject to a satisfactory DBS clearance and as a result, you will be required to pay the associated fee of £47.50. This fee will be deducted from your second month’s salary.
