Trust Doctor @ ST3 level in Obstetrics & Gynaecology

Job Reference: 415-MP421-19

Employer:

Department:
Med Staff Obs & Gynae
Location:
Barnstaple
Salary:

We are looking for a Trust Doctor @ ST3 level to come and work at our District hospital in North Devon.

Our doctors have challenging careers and a work-life balance like nowhere else. At work, they’re part of supportive teams, in roles that deliver everything you would want from a medical career. In their spare time, they are out surfing, walking and cycling and enjoying the most amazing scenery that Devon has to offer, with beautiful beaches just a stone’s throw away from the hospital.

Our acute hospital is big enough to provide real opportunities for innovation and research, but small enough for your work to make a real impact. We have close-knit teams with quick lines of communication and that means we make things happen.

We perform highly against clinical standards, have a proven track record of staff satisfaction and meet our financial targets, so our doctors can focus on giving great care to patients.

The recent Devon-wide review of acute services recommended closer working between local hospitals and as networking evolves we expect these posts will be linked with those in other trusts within Devon, and most likely, Exeter.

So if you would like to have a rewarding life as well as an amazing career come and join us.

For further information about this post and to make arrangements to visit the department, please contact Mr Neil Liversedge, Lead Clinician, on 01271 314010, or Mr Neil Schofield, Group Manager – Women’s & Children’s on 01271 314010 .

If you are interested in joining our team please refer to the job description for futher information

Our values guide everything we do. At all times, we aim to:

  • Demonstrate compassion
  • Strive for excellence
  • Respect diversity
  • Act with integrity
  • Listen and support others

Our teams of care professionals work with patients and their families to support peoples’ independence, health and wellbeing. We provide support to avoid hospital admissions, and if an admission is necessary, we try to make each patient’s stay in hospital as short and effective as possible before working with them on a safe discharge home.

According to many clinical targets, we rate as one of the best performing non-foundation trusts in England, because we treat patients in line with national waiting time standards, have very few hospital-acquired infections and meet our four-hour waiting times for urgent care. We have a huge range of clinical expertise that we share across professional spheres to ensure people get world-class care when they need it.

In our most recent staff survey, our staff voted us in the top 10% of NHS provider organisations to work for and we also came out as the top provider in the South West for our overall results. Our patients (through the Friends and Family Test) regularly report an average of over 95% satisfaction with our services.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the Resident Labour Market Test. For further information and to self-assess the likelihood of obtaining a Certificate of Sponsorship, please visit the UK Border Agency website. Note: we will be unable to obtain Tier 2 sponsorship for Bank positions.

Please note that we may close this vacancy early if we receive a high volume of applicants.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the Resident Labour Market Test. The UK Visas and Immigration department requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.

From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement.
