In September 2017, we announced that our Trust Gloucestershire Care Services NHS Trust and (2gether) were planning to join together. From October 2019, we hope to be one organisation providing integrated community mental health, physical health and learning disabilities services. The new Trust will be called Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust.

We are already working closely together but the benefits we really want for our communities can best be achieved if we become a single trust, delivering outstanding integrated physical and mental health care.

The aim of the proposed merger is to improve our services and ensure we are providing the most appropriate and seamless information, support and treatment for people with mental health issues, physical health problems or learning disabilities. It will mean we can help people as a ‘whole person’, not just separate conditions or symptoms. As healthcare professionals in the new Trust, you will be able to ensure better outcomes for service users which we know is really important to all clinical, medical and support professionals alike. For colleagues, it will also provide more opportunity to develop and realise your potential.

While our overall name will become Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust, services in Herefordshire will be given their own, separate, name, which will be Herefordshire Mental Health and Learning Disability Services.

The details of the merger will be finalised early September and the Trusts hope to be one organisation from 1st October 2019.

Both Trusts are high performing with ‘good’ CQC ratings and strong financial foundations.


OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Band: 5

Salary: £24,214 - £30,112 per annum pro rata

Hours: 26.5 hours per week

Location: Inpatients Ward, North Cotswold’s Hospital

Contract: Permanent

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our friendly multidisciplinary team based at North Cotswold Hospital.

As one of the Band 5 OTs, you will play a vital role in the MDT based at North Cotswold Hospital and will be supervised and supported by a Band 6 OT. The Hospital team works closely with the Integrated Community Teams based to support a seamless pathway of care for patients. Gloucestershire Care Services utilises the Canadian Model of Occupational Performance to guide interventions so knowledge of this would be advantageous.

Your role will involve managing a full clinical caseload, providing timely assessment, intervention and supporting discharge from hospital. On occasions it may be necessary for you to follow up patients as part of their discharge plan however the majority of your work would be ward based.

HCPC registration and ability to travel within the county is essential.
