We are the largest provider of NHS services across the County of Cumbria. Around 3500 staff operate 60 community and mental health services from over 20 main sites and many other premises shared with other health or community services such as GP surgeries. In any one year we see around one fifth of the population providing health care services to people in Cumbria, from newborn babies to care of the frail and elderly. Our services are organised into care groups, designed to put clinicians in control of decision making with patients and carers so that services are run by experts in the clinical area.

Are you passionate about Health Visiting and are forward thinking? Then why not consider applying for a Bank Health Visitor post in our friendly health visiting team?

We are looking for newly qualified or experienced innovative Health Visitors to join our enthusiastic team working on the bank. The teams work with families with Preschool children who are receiving Universal, Universal plus until the child/ren become the subject of Child in Need, Child Protection Plan or A Looked After Child. The Universal service is commissioned by the County Council to deliver the Healthy Child programme. In addition to the mandated contacts the Health Visiting team work with a diversity of clients.

The Health Visiting teams have close links with the Children’s Centres and we are working towards co-location. The teams have good working relationships with the Children’s Centre staff. You will be delivering evidence based care and work in partnership with other agencies and Children’s Centre programme managers in developing a wide range of health initiatives to meet the needs of the local population.

Health Visitors in Cumbria receive regular Clinical, Child Protection and Management Supervision ensuring a quality service. We have a robust training programme.

The successful candidate will require a full driving license, be enthusiastic, possess good organisational and communication skills and be adaptable to new ways of working.

The post is bank, hours variable across the County.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding adults and children therefore if the post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended) the successful candidate(s) will be subject to a criminal records check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows if applicable to the post:

Standard Check: £26 + Administration cost of £4.20 = deducted at £10.20 from 1st month salary and £10 deducted from salary over following 2 months.

Enhanced Check: £44 + administration cost of £4.20 = £15.20 deducted from 1st month salary and £11 deducted from salary over following 3 months.
