We have an exciting opportunity for a senior clinical technologist to lead our friendly, dynamic team of clinical technologists in the osteoporosis centre at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS).

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic, well-motivated team leader to manage the clinical and research service provided by the osteoporosis centre. The role will involve close patient contact therefore good communication skills are essential.

You will need to have:

  • Great team leading skills.
  • Experience in bone densitometry.
  • Registration with the RCT or HCPC.
  • Competent computer skills for precision measurements.
  • BSc degree in a relevant subject.
  • Experience working within a health care environment the post may interest appropriately qualified allied health professionals e.g. nurses or radiographers as well as scientists.

The osteoporosis centre houses two high specification bone densitometers a HRpQCT scanner and two ultrasound machines and provides bone density, bone quality, body composition and vertebral assessment scans for in/out patients and private patients. Approximately 5000 patients are seen each year. The centre also offers technical services to clinical and scientific research.
