Applications are invited for a full time substantive Consultant Anaesthetist and Pain Medicine. Applicants who are only able to work on a part time basis will be considered and on appointment the job content will be discussed on a personal basis to balance the needs of the service.

The post attracts a total of 10 PAs divided between Pain Services and Anaesthetics.

There is an opportunity for the post holder to design and shape the future of a biopsychosocial model of pain provision within our specialist Trust. This includes the range of therapeutic interventions provided, the chronic and acute service, and working alongside the Musculoskeletal Medicine Team in order to enhance and develop the non-surgical services.

To be successful, applicants will need to demonstrate enthusiasm for multi-disciplinary chronic pain management with appropriate experience equivalent to Advanced Specialist Training in Pain Medicine specified in the RCoA’s Curriculum for CCT in Anaesthetics. Full registration with the GMC and possession of the FRCA (or equivalent) are requirements of the post.
