An exciting opportunity has arisen for a RGN to come and join the team at Workington Hospital working on Ellerbeck Ward. We are undergoing a lot of exciting changes at present and are looking for enthusiastic nurses to join our progressive team.

We are currently a 16 bed ward that receives a wide variety of patient's, therefore you will gain experience in a wide variety of medical conditions.

We are forward thinking team and we work very closely together as an MDT. As a nurse on the ward you will work closely with other disciplines and become part of an effective rehabilitation and discharge planning team.

We are also able to offer patient's treatment closer to home such as IV therapies therefore preventing increased admissions to the acute trust.

We also excel in palliative care and have a strong bond with our community trying to care for patients nearer to home.

The successful candidate must possess a RGN qualification, however consideration will be given to applicants who are currently waiting for RGN registration.

We have between 22.5 - 37.5 hours per week available, please put in your supporting information how many hours you would like to be considered for.

The Trust will provide a twelve month preceptorship period for all newly registered healthcare professionals.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding adults and children therefore if the post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended) the successful candidate(s) will be subject to a criminal records check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows if applicable to the post:

Standard Check: £26 + Administration cost of £4.20 = deducted at £10.20 from 1st month salary and £10 deducted from salary over following 2 months.

Enhanced Check: £44 + administration cost of £4.20 = £15.20 deducted from 1st month salary and £11 deducted from salary over following 3 months.
