Mental Health Practitioner Band 5 South Oxon. CAMHs (Getting More Help)

We are looking to recruit a band 5 either newly qualified or qualified and enthusiastic Clinical Mental Health Professional to work within CAMHs. You must be willing to undertake the Trusts preceptorship for nurses and OTs or social care ASYE programme for newly qualified social workers.

We are a busy and supportive multidisciplinary team providing support for children, young people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties and their families in the Oxfordshire area. This is an exciting time for the team, as we are in the process of transforming our existing services to develop a modern and comprehensive mental health service that better meets the needs of our client group.

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust (OHFT) provides physical, mental health and social care for people of all ages across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Swindon, Wiltshire, Bath and North East Somerset. Our services are delivered at community bases, hospitals, clinics and people’s homes. We focus on delivering care as close to home as possible.

Following national and local transformation of children and young people’s mental health provisions, Oxfordshire CAMHS is developing with investment to support trailblazer services comprising of Mental Health Support Teams into Schools (MHST’s) and piloting four week waiting times in our new Getting Help and Getting More Help pathways. Oxfordshire CAMHS launched a new model and approach to children and young people’s mental health in 2017 and this continues to be an exciting time of continued service development in delivering high quality CYP mental health interventions in a range of community settings.

We offer individual clinical supervision, case load (management), professional, DBT, and CBT supervision in addition to reflection as a team.

  • New starters have a 6 month probationary period. This, together with the induction process aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale.

  • Candidates not currently employed by the Trust who attend an interview for non-qualified Band 1-5 posts are required to undertake numeracy and literacy assessments.
