School Health Service Health Care Assistant (MEND)

15 hours per week, Term Time Only

An exciting opportunity has risen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic health care assistant to deliver the MEND (“Mind, Exercise, Nutrition, Do It!”) Healthy weight Management Programme for children in Lewisham. We are looking for a confident and personable team player, with a special interest in supporting children and families to achieve a healthy weight lifestyles.

The MEND programme is activity based and the role requires that you lead exercise and activity sessions as part of your working day. As well as this, you should be talented and enthusiastic with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal with a wide range of contacts, both clinical and non-clinical. You will need to have a keen eye to accuracy and attention to detail as you’ll be dealing with confidential, sensitive information.

The role is a part-time position, with hours ranging from 15-22.5 hours per week. The post holder will be part of a work force that will be delivering sessions in schools and community venues to children and families. These sessions will be held after school till early evening and occasional Saturdays- therefore flexibility is crucial. We are prepared to offer a range of flexible working options. The team is friendly and supportive and can offer the successful candidate a comprehensive induction/training programme.

There will be a full induction and training provided, and opportunities for career progression.
