Devon Doctors Ltd are currently recruiting for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to cover our overnight shifts at our ever expanding team at our treatment centre in Bridgwater.

We are looking to fill shifts that run from 23:00-08:00 Monday-Sunday. We can be flexible with rotas and can work with you to create a shift pattern over our 3 week rolling rotas that works for you.

Who are we looking for?

In order to be successful, we ask that all applicants have an Advanced Level Nurse Practitioner qualification (MSc) and must be a non-medical prescriber. We will also accept applications from those who are credentialing or have gone through this process.

You will be responsible for meeting the healthcare needs of patients accessing the out of hour’s service, either through telephone consultation, home visits or face to face consultations in the treatment centre. You will be expected to share workloads and responsibilities with the GPs, making the best use of clinical skills and expertise within a service that delivers high quality health care to the local community.

We promote a patient centred ethos of “Putting Patients First” so we are looking for a paramedic practitioner who can contribute to this and be passionate to put our ethos to practice.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Undertake telephone consultations and make an autonomous decision of the most appropriate solution to the health care need. i.e. Telephone consultation, treatment centre visit or home visit
  • Diagnose, discharge and refer independently
  • Work within legal framework of prescribing through Patient Group Directives
  • Autonomously manage urgent primary care needs
  • Carry out Home Visits as required
