Luther Street Medical Centre (LSMC) is a specialist Primary Care GP Surgery in central Oxford for people who are homeless and vulnerably housed.Based in a modern, purpose-built medical centre and working closely with local statutory and voluntary agencies, a full range of medical and nursing services have been provided over the last twenty years.These include GP services, general and mental health nursing services, addiction nurse services as well as an on-site dentist, podiatrist and acupuncturist.Practical help, advice and support for registered patients as well as referral to on-site drug services and on-site psychiatric and psychology services is also provided.With an experienced and highly committed team of staff, this is a well established service which continues to develop.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and innovative Practice Receptionist/Administrator who has an interest in services for homeless people. The post holder will be responsible for the administration of the day to day operations and ongoing support of the service.You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and will have excellent verbal and written communication skills plus good computer literacy.

Receptionist/administrative experience in a similar setting will be advantageous.The post holder reports to the Reception and Administration Manager and will be fully supported and trained. Familiarity with and interest in homelessness and health issues are desirable.

  • New starters have a 6 month probationary period. This, together with the induction process aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale.

  • Candidates not currently employed by the Trust who attend an interview for non-qualified Band 1-5 posts are required to undertake numeracy and literacy assessments.
