The Trauma and Orthopedic Department at the Bristol Royal Infirmary has a a part time vacancy for a band 5 audit nurse.

You will need clinical nursing experience to be able to gather and collate a wide range of information required for national initiatives such as the Joint Registry and the National Hip Fracture Database. Orthopaedic knowledge would be useful but not essential, but you must be recently familiar with current clinical terminology and able to learn fast.

Working closely with the Hip Fracture Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will need to be able to interpret audit results and feedback to nursing and medical staff through teaching and education. You will also be responsible for surgical site surveillance so an interest in infection control would also be valuable.

Most importantly, you will need excellent attention to detail, be able to manage your time efficiently and have the ability to communicate and interact with a wide range of professionals. Adaptability and a commitment to delivering best quality care are also essential.
