Registered Mental Health Staff Nurses

Women’s Service, Thames House, Oxford

Band 5, £24,214 - £30,112 per annum plus a Regional Secure Unit allowance of £1,446 per annum paid monthly.

An additional short term recruitment premia of £1500 per annum paid monthly is available to Band 5 and 6 nursing staff subject to meeting the qualifying criteria. Are you committed to delivering high quality patient care?

Thames House is a resource for the whole of the Thames Valley area providing specialist assessment, outreach, consultancy and standard setting. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to help continue to shape the service and advance the standards of care for our users. The unit works directly with women planning their recovery and ultimately aims to support their move back into the community.

We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic qualified Mental Health Nurses to join our multi-disciplinary team. You will deliver excellent care to our clients as part of a dynamic and developing team. You will have a good knowledge base, excellent communication skills and a flexible and positive attitude. Applicants with a caring, non-judgmental and inclusive attitude who are committed to the delivery of safe, high quality care are welcomed. Some experience in a secure setting may be an advantage but is not essential.

It is mandatory for you to complete Management of Violence Aggression Training, Breakaway Training and other training directly related to the job.

  • New starters have a 6 month probationary period. This, together with the induction process aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale.

  • Candidates not currently employed by the Trust who attend an interview for non-qualified Band 1-5 posts are required to undertake numeracy and literacy assessments.
