We are very excited to be developing a new Band 5 Nurse rotation. Each rotation will be for one year and we are hoping to expand the posts across other parts of the mental health service (in-patients and community). Being part of a rotation gives a variety of experience prior to specialisation and career progression.

The Older Adult Mental Health Community Service is expanding and developing. The service has low attrition rates and has aims to work together with patients, their families, colleagues and the wider community for outstanding care, enabling older people to live well and thrive. The current posts support our existing in-patient service and our developing community service focusing on evidenced based interventions for older people who experience mental health and frailty.

The community service operates from Monday to Friday 9:00 - !7:00 and the in-patients service operates a 24 hour, 365 days a year service across a 12 hour shift pattern

 

The service accepts referrals for individuals over 65 and teams are multidisciplinary. As a band 5 you will have a Band 6 mentor who will provide supervision and training as required.

 

You will need to have a flexible attitude, have good time management and be able to work within busy, but supportive teams. Car driver is essential for the community posts.

PLEASE NOTE: All new appointments are subject to 6 months’ probation period.

New employees to the Trust are required to pay the fee for the initial DBS check (this will be deducted from their first months’ salary) and the annual subscription (£13) to the DBS Update Service. The Trust offers a preceptorship year for newly qualified nurses and AHP's and attendance at preceptorship programmes is a condition of employment.
