OUR TRUST VALUES

Our Trust is a great place to work and we are keen to ensure that all our employees have the right values in order that we can provide the best service to our patients. These values are very important to us, and as a potential candidate you should be made aware that we test for these throughout the whole assessment/recruitment and selection process, and will only interview and recruit individuals who demonstrate these values through their application and behaviour.

Are you a Band 5 therapist looking for a great team to work in? Would you like to work alongside highly experienced therapists to develop your clinical knowledge and skills?

We have one Band 5 speech and language therapy post within our team based in West Worcestershire (Wyre Forest, Worcester and Malvern) and two posts in our team based in East Worcestershire (Redditch, Bromsgrove and Wychavon).

We are looking for positive, enthusiastic and proactive speech and language therapists with a commitment to collaborative working to join our Children’s Speech and Language Therapy Service based in Worcestershire.

We are a well-established team offering a range of services for 0-19 year olds. We have posts working within our early years and school age teams. The posts are based in Children Centres, mainstream schools and possibly special schools (dependent upon the experience of the applicants), working alongside other therapists and speech and language therapy assistants to deliver both our core NHS/LA funded contract and additional school commissioned services.

We are looking for good team players who can be flexible and supportive members of the team.

As a county wide speech and language therapy team, we offer:

  • a strong commitment to supporting personal and professional development with ongoing mentor support, supervision and CPD opportunities

  • in house training and support with the expertise of nationally recognised therapists employed by our team, including Language for Learning (Emma Jordan), Teaching Children to Listen (Jacqui Woodcock and Liz Spooner) and Word Aware/Language for Thinking (Anna Branagan)

  • a central base for all staff, with excellent administrative and professional support

  • a progressive approach to service delivery and evidence-based practice, licensed with The Balanced System™

PLEASE NOTE: All new appointments are subject to 6 months’ probation period.

If the same or similar vacancy arises within the recruitment period of this post or up to 3 months afterwards, the Trust may chose not to re advertise, but to select a suitable candidate from this interview pool. The new post may differ in terms of the base, hours available (full or part time) or contract type (permanent or fixed term) and therefore you are encouraged to apply for advertised posts but specify on your application form your preferences.

In the event of exceptionally high levels of response, we reserve the right to close the post before the date stated in order to prevent the number of applications received being unmanageable.

Applicants must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English in both verbal and written formats.

**If the position being applied for requires a DBS check to be undertaken on you, it will be a condition of your employment that you have subscribed and continue to subscribe to the DBS Update Service. New employees to the Trust are required to pay the fee for the initial DBS check (this will be deducted from their first months’ salary) and the annual subscription (£13) to the DBS Update Service. Internal applicants are required to pay the annual subscription fee only (£13). Further information on the update service can be found on our website link ‘DBS Update Service.’

The Trust offers a preceptorship year for newly qualified nurses and AHP's and attendance at preceptorship programmes is a condition of employment.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the Resident Labour Market Test. The UK Visas and Immigration department requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.

From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement.

UK Registration
