Working closely with partner organisations, the CCG’s 300 staff design, plan and commission health services for more than half a million people and monitor the quality and effectiveness of those services.

Are you exactly the person we are looking for? Applications are welcome from experienced, enthusiastic, professional people who want to join our IT Core Services team in this role as an Infrastructure Engineer.
The successful candidate will form a vital part of the Core Services Team which is responsible for ensuring that the delivery of data centre services Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Luton as part of HBLICT shared services:-

 

    • Provide 3rd line technical support within the Core Services team, delivering network and data centre services to customers as per relevant Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

 

    • Contribute to all aspects of network and data centre services including service design, implementation and operation of customer networks and related support services including technical architecture, operational procedures, standards and processes across customers.

 

    • Working in a team to implement information security polices across all the disciplines within ICT.

 

    • Using the ITIL framework which is recognised globally to establish and improve capabilities through good practice.

 

    • Contribute to service continuity and disaster recovery in respect of network and data centre services including major incident plans

 

    • Maintain high quality ICT services through continuous review of service provision

 

    • Maintain a suite of operational support manuals in relation to the job function in conjunction with Network Operations Centre Lead.

 

    • Liaising with colleagues from other supported organisations to ensure continuity of services.

 

    • Support with the successful implementation of projects under the direction of the Project Management Office, across all of the 6 partner organisations and other customers as required.

 

    • Work with 3rd party vendors/support agencies to progress and resolve core infrastructure issues which cannot be rectified locally

 

    • Manage work volumes through the organisations ITSM platform, specifically dealing with incident and service requests.

 

    • Plan, test and schedule patching/firmware updating across a range of Core Services systems

 

Applicants must be able to demonstrate that their level of skill and experience reflect the requirements in the job description and person specification.

In addition to the basic salary, this post attracts a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of basic salary subject to a minimum and maximum payment per annum (pro rata where applicable) in line with Agenda for Change.

A full valid driving license and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Single Equality Act 2010).
