You will be joining a well-established Community Mental Health Team delivering high quality community care to the older adult population of High Wycombe, South Buckinghamshire. The team provides care and treatment for both patients with dementia and those over the age of 65 with functional illness. The consultant establishment overall is 33 PA for an older adult population of approximately 55,000.

Responsibilities for the post will be determined by GP catchment population of less than 17,000. There are no routine ward commitments. There are inpatient beds in Aylesbury and Oxford with their own ward consultants.

We provide a strong, stable clinical service with an emphasis on keeping patients in their own homes. Buckinghamshire Older Adult Mental Health services have pioneered service improvements such as memory clinics in GP surgeries, which have received national recognition.

The team is based in High Wycombe (with a satellite base) near the Chilterns, which is an area of outstanding natural beauty; London is also very accessible.
