An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and motivated dietetic assistant practitioner to join our dietetic team at WUTH.

You will be joining a team of dietitians who provide a proactive service across a range of specialities.

You will contributing to providing a dietetic service to inpatients by collecting medical and nutritional information for patients newly referred to the dietetic service and implementing nutritional care plans for patients who have already been assessed by the dietitian. You will be working under the supervision of the dietitian as well as working closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team. Your role will involve delivering patient education sessions and training to other healthcare professionals.

We are looking for a full time dietetic assistant to work with a keen interest in nutrition and health and a willingness to learn. You will have a foundation degree or equivalent (ie NVQ Level 4) in nutrition or dietetics and it would be an advantage to have experience in nutrition or healthcare.

You should have good communication and organisational skills, an ability to work effectively as a member of the dietetic team and the ability to demonstrate you can work without direct supervision.

The department offers excellent support for your continuing professional development. You will receive regular supervision and be supported to engage in appropriate training. You will be involved in health promotion and encouraged to actively engage in service development.

The dietetic team is actively involved in student training and the successful candidate will be actively contributing towards this.
