Senior Clinical Fellow/ST3+ - Care of the Elderly (12 Months Fixed Term Contract)

 

 

 

We are seeking 4 Senior Clinical Fellow/ST3+ to join the dynamic, motivated and innovative Care of the Elderly team at BHRUT to deliver excellent and safe care for our patients. This appointment will be for a 12 month fixed term initially to work at either Queens or King George Hospitals.

 

 

 

The successful post-holder will support the development and clinical transformation of our busy Care of Elderly faculty through the extremely busy frailty pathway. We have opportunities for individuals who are looking to develop their skills at a higher level relating to the complex range of cases seen through a large number of acutely unwell elderly patients. This post will provide an excellent opportunity for educational development in General Medicine.

 

 

 

There are both formal and informal teaching sessions provided; and all juniors are encouraged to participate in audit and clinical governance related projects. All staff will have a mentor for help and guidance. This post would provide a good platform for candidates wishing to seek approved training rotations, particularly in Specialist Medicine, Emergency Medicine and GP

 

 

 

At BHRUT our first priority is the quality of care our patients receive. We are one of the largest Associate Teaching Hospitals in the country and employ circa 6,000 staff. The Trust is in an excellent location, close to Central London and the Olympic Park. The Trust is well situated in the South East. As well as the advantages of being close to the city the Trust has on-site nursery facilities and is located near good schools. BHR is one of the largest University Hospitals, providing acute care for over 700,000 people across 2 main sites – Queen’s and King George Hospitals, as well as peripheral sites at Barking, Dagenham and Brentwood. We are a Trauma Unit and have close links to the HEMS services.

 

 

 

The Trust has 2 Emergency departments, one at Queens Hospital, Romford and one at King George Hospital, Ilford. Both sites have Resus, Majors, Minors and Paediatric areas and a UCC attached to the departments.

 

We are looking for Registrars who have our PRIDE values (Passion, Responsibility, Innovation, Drive and Empowerment). These consultants will join a team that strives for high performance and quality of care, while working collaboratively with colleagues and providing clinical leadership.

 

 

 

Applicants must have full registration with the General Medical Council and holder of MRCP or equivalent qualification (or eligible if currently working overseas). International applicants will be considered and are encouraged to apply. These posts are recognised banded posts.
