For over four decades Countess Mountbatten Hospice Charity have provided outstanding palliative care to its community and its services have made a huge impact on many families lives across Hampshire.

The journey towards end of life can be a complex one. Medical advances and changes in family lives mean that the care we provide to our patients and their families constantly evolves to meet the needs and expectations of our Community. For us to extend our services further to reach more people we need to recruit additional staff to support our outstanding services, here at the Hospice.


37.5 hours per week

Salary up to £19,000 per annum,depending upon experience and qualifications (Band 2, AFC)

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a receptionist to join the team here at Countess Mountbatten Hospice.

This role involves assisting and direct patients and visitors of Countess Mountbatten Hospice (Mountbatten). To access the appropriate services or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. Provide a positive and friendly image to all patients and visitors, either in person or via the telephone.

This is a very busy role, working with complex systems and with a large and varied workload. We are therefore looking for someone enthusiastic and excited to take on a new challenge. Reporting to the Admin Team Leader you will also provide cover for other administration duties as required.

About you

The post holder will be required to work flexibly Monday – Friday 8:30am to 4.30pm working on a basis of 7.5 hours per day but you may be required to work an evening or weekend with prior notice if needed.

You will have excellent customer service skills with a professional and pleasant manner. You will be a very valuable member of the Administration team and assist in the provision of a high standard. You will have a flexible approach to working routines, the ability to do a variety of tasks at one time and to work within a team and also alone is essential.

You will be required to attend and maintain regular training courses and to follow the policies and procedures set down by Countess Mountbatten Hospice.

Previous experience of working in a Charity environment is desirable, but training will be provided to enhance the post holder’s skill set.
