We are very progressive in Thurrock and are developing very robust partnership working across the Childrens services to ensure we deliver the 0-19 Healthy Child Programme and quality healthcare services to improve the health and well-being within the diverse community which we serve.

Our vision for delivering the Healthy Child Programme, in partnership with key stakeholders is to ensure that every child in Thurrock has the very best start in life and grows up to be happy, safe, healthy, confident and resilient.

The Band 5 post within our integrated 0-19 team and the appointed nurse will be supported to attain and consolidate skills to practice in line with the Job Description and enable career progression by having required knowledge and experience to apply for SCPHN training posts.

The post holder will be a Registered Nurse; have proven experience of working in multi-disciplinary and multi-agency settings with a positive attitude towards actively engaging difficult to reach client populations. You will have experience of working closely with families and an understanding of the whole family approach to care.

• To support the delivery of 0-19 Universal Services in the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme
• To participate in the development of skill mix within the 0-19 Universal Services Team
• To participate in Health Education programmes and health promotion activities on a multi-disciplinary basis as agreed by the 0-19 Universal Services

 

Probationary Period

 

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

 

Assessment/Interview info

 

At NELFT we set very high standards to ensure we provide quality services. We require prospective employees to carry out an online literacy and numeracy test, equivalent to NVQ Level 2. If you are shortlisted, invited for interview and successfully offered the post, you will be required to undertake an assessment for these skills during the pre-employment checks.

 

Starting with NELFT

 

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

 

High Cost Area Supplement - Essex

 

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £1,017 to a maximum of £1,762)
