Online applications are invited to apply for a senior fellow in intensive care medicine commencing August 2019. This post is fixed term for 12 months.

 

This post will be based on the General Intensive Care Unit at the University Hospital Southampton NHS trust. This post is intended for doctors experienced in ICM and acute care who wish to further develop their skills outside a training post, being able to work alongside trainees on the registrar / airway rota. Preference will be given to those who have airway skills and experience working at a registrar level in Intensive Care Medicine or Anaesthesia.

 

The post will join an established team of 15 Consultants who provide a full range of services to a large population across the South Coast. The Intensive Care Unit at Southampton General Hospital provides Critical Care services for a wide range of specialities including General Surgery, General Medicine, the Major Trauma Centre, Vascular and Thoracic Surgery, and Bone Marrow Transplant. The post will provide the opportunity to continue developing your skills in all aspects of Intensive Care Medicine in a large multidisciplinary unit supporting a large, expanding teaching hospital ICU admitting approximately 1800 patients per year.

 

Appointment will be made under local contractual terms and conditions of service for Trust appointed (non-training fellow doctors and dentists) which will be published and available at time of offers.

 

Grades for Trust appointed (non-training) fellows will be paid a basic salary at a nodal pay point linked to the grade, at the rate set out in the National Medical and Dental pay circular. Basic salary detailed below plus any additional remuneration (as applicable) for hours set out in the doctors work schedule (e.g. additional hours, weekend allowance, and any hours which attract enhanced pay)

 

Basic Salary - MT04 £47,132

 

Please note that GMC registration (with a licence to practice) and right to work in the UK are essential for this role. Successful applicants will already have GMC registration or will be able to demonstrate they are eligible. Applicants requiring Tier 2 sponsorship should ensure they meet the Home Office application criteria prior to submitting an application.
