Are you an enthusiastic, motivated and committed pharmacist? If so we would like you to join our mental health pharmacy team. You must be someone who works well in isolation and within a small team. You will also need to have the skills to be able to work within the wider multi-disciplinary team of nurses and doctors and other allied healthcare professionals and managers. Can you contribute towards developing and improving the reliability and quality of our clinical pharmacy service? If so why not join our exciting mental health pharmacy team. You will need to be passionate about wanting to support patients and their families through their recovery process and also managing and optimising medicines with your multidisciplinary team.
Our dynamic and creative Trust pharmacy team provides pharmacy services to a wide range of community and inpatient service users in Newham, Luton & Bedfordshire, City & Hackney and Tower Hamlets. These include children and young people to adults of working age, older adults, and forensic patients. Supported by trained medicines management technicians, we provide a broad range of clinical pharmacy services to our inpatient wards, community teams and service users under Home Treatment team.


The areas served by the Trust are the most culturally diverse and deprived areas in England and therefore provide significant challenges for the provision of mental health services. In this post you will join other pharmacists and medicines management technicians to form a dynamic and creative pharmacy team which will provide pharmacy services to a wide range of community and inpatient service users in Newham. You will provide support to the medicines management technicians; provide clinical pharmacy services to service users under Home Treatment Team. You will be working closely with the clinical lead pharmacist and the operational lead within the Home Treatment Team in undertaking and developing audits and projects to evaluate and improve services alongside pharmacy and trust priorities and objectives. You will also work with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of safe and effective service to mental health patients in Newham


You must be able to show compassion and respect for people with mental health problems and be driven to improve their care through medicines management.
