Senior Mental Health Practitioner for Tier 3 CAMHS

Full time - 37.5 Hours per week to be worked over 5 days (Monday to Friday) Administration base – Kidderminster Health Centre

To support our continuing development of a comprehensive CAMH service for the children and young people of Worcestershire we have a vacancy available in the MDT for an experienced clinician to join our team within CAMHS North. CAMHS North has 2 locality bases and this post will be have the main admin and clinical base in Kidderminster but will work over the patch and county as and when required.

 

This post would be excellent for someone who wishes to build experience in this specialist area and for those wishing to take their skills and experience further. We are keen to receive applications from all appropriately qualified disciplines and would welcome applications from Social Worker colleagues and others who have the confidence and experience to support the continued mental health service we have developed for Looked After Children

 

The Senior Mental Health Practitioner post requires you to have at least 2 years post qualified experience of working with mental health problems and undertaking mental health assessments. Experience of assessing and managing risk in the context of mental health is vital along with experience of working with children and families. Where your experience is from another mental health field you will need to be able to demonstrate how you can transfer your skills to meet the needs of children and young people. The role will include carrying a clinical caseload, taking part in the SPA (single point of access) rota and working within a multi- disciplinary team.

 

A desire to build skills and experience in the modalities required for Specialist CAMHS work is also required. The role will be varied and you will be offered support by the CAMHS Manager and the team alongside of given access to clinical supervision. There is an expectation that you will travel between bases as and if required to meet service need.

PLEASE NOTE: All new appointments are subject to 6 months’ probation period.

The Trust offers a preceptorship year for newly qualified nurses and AHP's and attendance at preceptorship programmes is a condition of employment.
