The Luton & Dunstable University Hospital is a highly rated, diverse and forward thinking place to work. We are a Foundation Trust serving a multi-cultural population of over 350,000 across Bedfordshire and North Hertfordshire.

The Trust Boards of Luton and Dunstable University Hospital and Bedford Hospital have agreed to explore plans to merge and form one NHS Trust. Under the umbrella of the single NHS Trust, both hospitals will retain their identity and individual hospital names. All key services will remain on both sites and will be managed as single teams across the whole Bedfordshire catchment area. This will bring many benefits for patients including much improved continuity of care.

Through tremendous commitment and hard work, our Paediatrics, Emergency Care Services and Outpatient Services achieved “Outstanding” in our 2016 Care Quality Commission inspection. Similarly we had an overall rating of “Good” across the rest of the hospital. We were praised as compassionate, empathetic and exhibiting patient outcomes above the average when compared with other acute Trusts.

We are a regional centre of excellence for several key specialties including, Obesity Research, Neurophysiology, Cardiology, Ophthalmology and Cancer Services. We are a tertiary level NICU provider and one of the largest centres for breast screening in the country.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative IT 2nd line team who can significantly improve operational performance and directly impact day to day patient care. To work with VDI and Citrix across the Trust

The role incorporates customer care, relationship management, operations and Communications co-ordination. For all of these functions, the post holder is expected to understand, meet and exceed their customers' requirements and have the ability to explain IT issues to non IT staff. The post holder is responsible facilitating roll out of the new VDI desktops across the Trust. Experience of supporting windows 7, Citrix, App-sense and Dell Thin client devices
