Want to be an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in an exciting fast paced service

Come and join our team at Basildon and Thurrock Hospital and help us reach ‘Outstanding’.

Basildon Paediatric service has undergone a significant amount of change over the last couple of years, under innovate senior nursing leadership and management, we achieved a ‘Good’ CQC outcome from our last inspection.

We now want to achieve ‘Outstanding’.

Our busy Children’s Accident & Emergency Department is open 24 hours 7 days a week it has a co- located Paediatric Assessment Unit.

We truly believe that developing our workforce to be empowered, dynamic children nurses working as advanced clinical practitioners can help us to deliver excellent care and provide the best experience for our patients. We put children, young people and their families at the heart of all we do and support our nursing and support staff with bespoke training and development opportunities to help them achieve this goal. We currently have senior nurses training on Advanced Clinical Practice pathways in both Paediatrics and Neonates and we wish to develop this team further by recruiting experienced ANP to both services.

If successful you will join the existing ST 1-3 rota and work with the Paediatric Medical team to provide a seamless service in the assessment unit. We have a number of extended nurse competencies and roles within our services, and this is the next step.

To be considered for the role, you will need to:

Be a registered Children’s nurse or Neonatal nurse by background who has successfully completed your Advanced Nurse Practitioner course at certificate or Master level

 

    • Be working currently as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner

 

    • Be a non-medical prescriber and be on the NMC register as one

 

    • Have excellent communication skills and the ability to form good relationships across the multi-disciplinary team and within challenging situations

 

    • Have the ability to challenge yourself, a flexible attitude that gets results and be open to innovative attitudes and solutions
