Bedford NHS Trust is a uniquely situated NHS Trust with a relatively small footprint with up to 410 beds and over 2700 staff supporting a planned and reactive healthcare service to a cohort of over 300,000. The Trust Boards of Luton and Dunstable University Hospital and Bedford Hospital have agreed to explore plans to merge and form one NHS Trust. Under the umbrella of the single NHS Trust, both hospitals will retain their identity and individual hospital names. All key services will remain on both sites and will be managed as single teams across the whole Bedfordshire catchment area. This will bring many benefits for patients including much improved continuity of care


emiWhat will I be doing in my new role?

The post holder will be responsible for the daily administration of the Bridges Clinic for Private Patients including the financial processes and liaising with patients and relevant BHT departments You will have a proven ability to communicate clearly, to lead and implement change, as well as having strong influencing and inter-personal skills, as you will be expected to work closely with Directors, Clinicians and Senior management across the Trust.

Candidates should be motivated, IT literate (Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Access) and be able to work on their own initiative. Knowledge of financials, and Business objects would be advantageous.

Bedford Hospital is situated in a beautiful part of the UK in the county of Bedfordshire. Bedford is a riverside town with easy access to quiet unspoilt countryside, which can become useful after a fulfilling shift. Bedford is one of, if not the most, cosmopolitan town in the UK with over 50 different ethnic groups represented.

It now provides a wide range of services which include beds for Care of the Elderly, ENT, General Medicine, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Neonatal, Obstetrics, Oncology, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Vascular Surgery, Breast Surgery and Urology. A modern Accident and Emergency Department includes a 6-bedded observation ward. The Critical Care Complex provides both High Dependency and Intensive Care beds to a maximum capacity of 12 beds.
