General Medicine

40 Basic plus 1:13 on-call pattern

Southprt and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust provides healthcare in hospital and the community to 258,000 people across Southport, Formby and West Lancashire.

Acute care is provided at Southport and Formby District General Hospital and Ormskirk District General Hospital. This includes adults’ and children’s accident and emergency services, intensive care and a range of medical and surgical specialities. Women’s and children’s services, including maternity, are provided at Ormskirk hospital.The North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre at Southport hospital provides specialist care for spinal patients from across the North West, North Wales and the Isle of Man.

The Trust also provides sexual health services for the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton.

Applications are invited for the role of LAS ST3 or higher to specialise in Diabetes and Endocrinology. This position is to cover a vacant HENW training post until 31/03/2020.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the trust at a very exciting time. The General Medicine team has recently grown with the addition of 5 SAS grade and 8 F2-ST2 level trust doctors appointed.

While this is a non-training post, the successful candidate will be supervised by their clinical supervisors, be able to attend teaching sessions in the Trust, have an electronic learning portfolio (for a fee) and have access to a well-equipped library with IT facilities.
