As HR Assistant working in the HR team, you will be required to provide strong and consistent administrative support to this department and the wider Trust.

You will act as the first point of contact for staff, managers and visitors, dealing with routine queries in a professional, efficient and confidential manner. This role requires the successful candidate to be confident in dealing with staff at all levels.

Excellent organisational and communication skills will be essential. You will be responsible for providing HR support in line with best practice, policies and procedures.

Tasks will include:

  • To deal with staff queries via telephone and e-mail, escalating as appropriate to other HR team members.
  • General office duties, including scanning, shredding and photocopying as required
  • Accurate data entry on to electronic HR Systems to ensure information is recorded and up-to-date
  • Use of the Electronic Staff Record (ESR) and other HR Systems as appropriate
  • To collect and distribute all internal and external post to the HR department in a timely manner.
  • To collate and submit the stationary order for approval and monitor appropriate stock levels.
  • To provide routine advice on general HR queries to a number of individuals including HR team members, Managers, staff members and applicants, ensuring that HR policies, procedures and guidelines are promoted and adhered to.
  • Exercise judgement and initiative when problems arise by taking appropriate action to resolve the problems or referring to the appropriate person

Experience of working within an HR office environment would be desirable, but not essential.

In line with other NHS Organisations in the Yorkshire and Humber Region a successful candidate appointed into a post within this Trust will be required to pay the DBS check fee (£49). This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
