Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust provides a range of community health services for both physical and mental health conditions, as well as a range of specialist services supporting people of all ages including family and young people services, mental health, learning disabilities and physical health community and inpatient services.

Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity working with Children and Adolescents?

We are delighted at the prospect of recruiting CAMHS Mental Health Practitioner to join our busy and dynamic Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. You would be part of an exciting rotational post, which will consist of both the CAMHS inpatient service and the CAMHS Crisis team. The post would rotate 6 monthly and would give you a wide array of experience within CAMHS.

Whilst part of the inpatient services you would be part of our MDT team comprising on consultant psychiatrist, psychology, psychotherapy, family therapy and nursing staff. Whilst on the ward you will be responsible for assessing, planning and implementing evidence based care to service users who are acutely unwell. You will also take part in running shifts and coordinating and delegating nursing duties to the nursing team. The inpatient service is continually developing and exploring ways to increase nursing expertise to offer wider therapies. Whilst working on the ward you will be expected to work shifts cover 7 days a week including early, late and night.

The crisis service consists of a multi-disciplinary team that include Nurses, Health Care Support Workers and Consultant psychiatrist. Our multi-disciplinary team offers two approaches to care delivery, namely, home treatment and Crisis Care.

You will be responsible for the assessment, planning and implementation of evidence based home treatment. You will both deliver this personally and coordinate the delivery of care by a team of health care support worker. Whilst working in the crisis team you will be expected to work shifts cover 7 days a week including early and late shifts.

Child and Adolescent Mental Health expertise and experience is desirable, but NOT essential as we recognise that expertise and experience in adult mental health is easily transferable. In addition we offer opportunities to enhance your existing skills and learn new ones.

Successful applicants for this post will automatically be provided with a Bank Workers agreement in addition to their substantive contract to provide both staff and our services with maximum flexibility for earnings and service delivery.
